Hospitality and tourism industry agree on higher holiday pay for 2017

In 2017 the holiday pay for all employers that are bound by KPGT, amounts to EUR 950.00. The annex has entered into force on 7 July 2017. The statutory period for payment of holiday pay had already lapsed prior to the introduction of this provision. Consequently, all employers who have paid holiday pay by 1 July 2017 will have to pay the difference of EUR 50.00 (holiday pay under KPGT amounts to at least EUR 900.00). For those employers allowed to delay the payment of the holiday pay, the higher holiday pay will have to be paid to employees. The annex does not provide a deadline for payment of the remaining holiday pay. Given the absence of a deadline, we suggest you to pay out the remainder as soon as KPGT enters into force or on the next payday.
